Governor Hobbs Announces Nearly $8 Million to Support Arizona Small Businesses

PHOENIX, AZ (September 17, 2024) – Today, Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Commerce Authority announced Arizona will receive a $7.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury as part of their State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Investing in America Small Business Opportunity Program (SBOP). Since taking office, Governor Hobbs has met with countless small business owners and understands the need for increased access to capital. Recognizing this, Governor Hobbs identified this grant as a priority to connect small businesses in key areas – manufacturing, clean energy, semiconductors – to historic investment opportunities that allow them to thrive in Arizona’s economic ecosystem. The funding will be used to expand and enhance already successful small business programs.

Tricolor Opens State-of-the-Art Automotive Reconditioning Facility In Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (September 4, 2024) – Tricolor, the third largest used automotive retailer in California and Texas and the largest in the country focused on addressing the needs of underserved Hispanic consumers, today unveiled its newest state-of-the-art mega reconditioning center in Surprise, Arizona. The 258,000-square-foot facility will employ more than 500 people from the area. Tricolor hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of the Surprise facility. Tricolor Chief Customer Officer Eduardo Perez was joined by City of Surprise Vice Mayor Nick Haney, the Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and local economic development, government and business leaders.

Arizona Commerce Authority Leads Delegation Visit To Taiwan

PHOENIX, AZ (September 3, 2024) – To further strengthen economic and trade ties, the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) is leading a delegation of more than 30 Arizona businesses, academia, and community leaders on an economic trade visit to Taiwan. The group delegation visit, which is taking place through September 6, 2024, features a packed schedule including meetings with Taiwan-based businesses and advancing partnerships in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors and bioscience. On Monday, the ACA hosted an “Arizona Forum” through the Arizona-Taiwan Trade and Investment Office. The event, which drew more than 120 attendees from local companies and governments, featured panel discussions and presentations highlighting Arizona’s workforce and business advantages. The group later toured Taipei Neihu Technology Park, Taiwan’s largest science park.
